About the Journal

Mise Au Point, Cahiers de l’Afeccav is the on-line journal of the French society of scholars and academics in film and media studies. It aims at publishing research on film, television and new media. Contributions are welcome from research areas such as history, cultural studies, aesthetics, economics, political science, sociology or communication studies. Multidisciplinary approaches are vividly encouraged. MAP is published once a year. Each issue features a themed section, submitted by members of the editorial board or guest editors, a varia section that presents several articles unconnected to the themed section, and a review section of books recently published abroad in the field of media research. Authors and publishers are invited to send books to the journal for reviewing.

Contents and Publishing policy:

MAP is published once a year. Each issue features a themed section, submitted by members of the editorial board or guest editors, a varia section that presents several articles unconnected to the themed section, and a review section of books recently published abroad in the field of media research.

The themed section comprises an introduction articulating the main issues on the topic and the specific contributions made by the authors. The journal welcomes individual articles for its varia section.

Proposals for themed sections and for varia should include a 500 word description of the project, the name and contact details of the author. All articles should be previously unpublished, not under submission elsewhere, written in French or in English (5,000-8,000 words), and comprise a bibliography. They should be sent to the editorial board along with a separate document with their author’s names, contact details, two short abstracts in French and in English, a list of key-words in both languages and a short biography. Authors commit themselves to keep the exclusive rights of their article to the journal until its publication or refusal by the editorial board.
